Coronavirus: protecting our patients and staff

Please observe the following safety measures in order to keep the risk of infection at UKBB as low as possible

• On admission to hospital, all patients are tested for the coronavirus as a matter of course. Information relevant to your personal situation will be provided on site. If a child tests positive, elective procedures will normally have to be postponed. Because of testing, you may experience longer waiting times, especially when attending the day clinic as an outpatient.

• Only one parent or guardian can visit or accompany each patient. Unfortunately siblings, other relatives or friends are not currently allowed to attend UKBB.

• Anyone accompanying patients must themselves be healthy. Current rules on hygiene and physical distancing must be observed throughout the hospital.

• Everyone over the age of 12 must wear a facemask. Fabric masks are not permitted. Suitable masks are available at the entrance to the hospital.
  

• The Cafeteria Nemo is closed. There is a small catering offer on the wards.

• Sudden cancellations are possible: Please be aware that planned operations and/or admissions to hospital may need to be postponed at short notice in some cases. Such decisions are never taken lightly, but may unfortunately be necessary at times in the current circumstances.   
  

Please note that the relevant safety regulations can change at short notice. Always follow the rules explained to you when attending the hospital.
