Research Networks

A dual professorship in Pediatric immunology with the University Oxford and the Department of Pediatrics at the John Radcliff Children’s Hospital promotes research collaborations between Basel and Oxford and facilitates the exchange of knowledge and undergraduates in pediatric research.

Our hospital is a member of Swiss PedNet, a network of eight children’s hospitals focused on the coordination of patient-oriented clinical research. The headquarters of Swiss PedNet in Basel coordinates and supports clinical trials in children following standard operating procedures. In addition, we closely collaborate with the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) and the Department of Clinical Research at the University Hospital Basel (USB).

The Department of Biomedicine unites the biomedical laboratory research in the faculty of medicine and represents a joint venture of the University of Basel, the USB and the UKBB.

The UKBB hosts the headquarters of the Brighton Collaboration, a global network of experts from over 100 countries aimed at providing high quality vaccine safety information and protocols for vaccine study design.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering bridges the gap between natural science and medicine in order to improve procedures and technologies for medical treatment. It is a joint venture of the University of Basel, the USB and the UKBB.
